This is the foundation course for understanding your computer, the Internet and how they are used in your job search.

Students will learn the basics of Microsoft Word 2003 to work with resumes, cover letters and thank you letters.  We'll cover the basic skills for creating documents, opening, closing, saving, editing, formatting and printing documents.

We will focus on what information should be included in a resume and cover letter, view examples of some resume templates to sue and some basic dos and don'ts of resume writing.

We'll introduce the Internet and how to open, close and browse Web pages, download files and post resumes online.

Students will create an E-mail account (if necessary) and learn how to create, send, reply, forward, print and delete messages; create folders; create contacts in the address book and basic E-mail etiquette.
 

Prerequisite: The No-Fear PC Introduction class or familiarity with using the mouse and keyboard.
